21-year-old killed in Limassol crash – Driver arrested

A fatal road collision occurred last night in Limassol, claiming the life of 21-year-old ABU ZAR, a Pakistani national.

The crash took place at approximately 21:25 on Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue. Under circumstances still under investigation, a car driven by a 55-year-old man collided with the victim’s motorcycle.

The young motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Limassol General Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds shortly after midnight.

The 55-year-old driver underwent preliminary alcohol and drug testing, both of which returned negative results.

He was subsequently arrested on the basis of a court warrant and is currently in custody to assist with the investigation.

Limassol Traffic Police are continuing their inquiries.
