2026 ESSO conscripts to create digital profiles from April

Date:

The Ministry of Defence has announced that, ahead of the enlistment of 2026 ESSO conscripts (ESSO refers to the annual Training Intake Series of Conscripted Soldiers), a new electronic platform for submitting the Statement of Selection Details will go live in April 2026.

The platform will allow conscripts to record their preferences for placement across branches, arms and corps of the National Guard, as part of the selection and allocation process.

Submissions through the government portal

All declarations will be submitted via the unified Government Portal at gov.cy, using the digital service “e-Enlistment”. Access to the service will require an active citizen profile and prior identity verification.

Profile creation deadline set for early April

For timely preparation, 2026 ESSO conscripts are urged to ensure that they have created a citizen profile and completed the identity verification process by early April 2026. This step is mandatory for accessing the electronic service and submitting the required declaration.

Conscripts who previously created a profile at the age of 16 for the submission of the Conscription Details Declaration do not need to create a new profile. In these cases, only identity verification is required.

Further guidance to be issued

The Ministry of Defence said that detailed guidance for 2026 ESSO conscripts will be issued before the official launch of the platform. Additional explanatory material outlining all procedures related to conscript selection will also be published on the Ministry’s section of the government portal.
