19yo and 21yo in custody for Apollon fan club attack

Date:

Police arrested a 19-year-old and a 21-year-old Saturday morning in connection with the violent assault on the Apollon fan club late Thursday night.

Around midnight on 27 November, a group of hooded individuals stormed the premises in Limassol. They threw firecrackers and molotov cocktails, attacked patrons inside and, while fleeing, set fire to a rubbish bin and damaged twelve parked cars.

Officers executed search warrants at the club Friday and seized several items including a pickaxe handle, a broom handle fitted with a metal spike, gloves and a helmet.

Both suspects remain in custody to assist investigations. Limassol CID continues the case.
