11 years in prison for woman caught with 24 kg of cannabis at Paphos Airport

The Paphos Assize Court today sentenced a 25-year-old woman to 11 years imprisonment after finding her guilty of:

  • Conspiracy to commit a felony
  • Illegal importation of drugs
  • Illegal possession of drugs
  • Possession with intent to supply

The woman arrived at Paphos Airport on 10 August 2025. During a routine luggage check, customs officers discovered approximately 24 kilograms of cannabis concealed in her suitcases.

She was arrested on the spot.

Police described the quantity as one of the largest single-person cannabis seizures at the airport in recent years.
