Multi-award-winning composer Andys Skordis presents his debut album β, now available on vinyl. This
album delivers a ritualistic sonic experience, blending contemporary classical music with heavy
drumming, electronics, and extended vocal techniques. Inspired by R.M. Rilke’s Duino Elegies (1923), β
draws listeners into a transcendental realm where the sacred meets the sublime, reflecting the poet’s
themes of existential inquiry and esoteric longing.
This release offers a new perspective on Skordis’s artistic journey, transforming the performative
energy of a live concert into a studio recording. It invites listeners to immerse themselves in the unique
characteristics of his music, captured in the timeless vinyl format.
“For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror” — R.M. Rilke
The album features seven compositions for Mezzo-Soprano, Bass Clarinet, Cello, Percussion, and
Electronics. Recorded in Amsterdam in 2023.
